New resto alert: Mad for Pizza
With numerous toppings and even choices for dough and sauces, you can now create your perfect pizza

MANILA, Philippines – Admit it. On some days, pre-made pizzas at stores just won’t cut it.

Who hasn’t picked off the topics they didn’t like?

Fret not. A new pizza place in Quezon City has adopted the concept of making your own pizza with your choice of toppings, type of dough, and sauces. And it’s not limited to just that.

The new establishment also offers comfort food, from rice meals to pasta and even desserts. It’s the perfect place to have a good meal with friends or when you’re feeling a bit under the weather.

Making your own pizza, no matter how many toppings you want, will cost you around 280 pesos and it’s good to share with 2-3 of your friends, depending on your appetites.

Toppings range from several kinds of cheeses such as feta and mozzarella to veggies like bell peppers and olives, seafood such as shrimps, cream dory, and anchovies, and of course meat – from meatballs to sausages and of course, everyone’s favorite bacon.

YOUR OWN CREATION. Here's a pizza with garlic parmesan dough, alfredo sauce, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, shrimps, bacon, and a couple of other meats
Chef Cyril Reyes who heads the kitchen in Mad for Pizza, says the main concept of the restaurant is to give their customers value for their money.
They aim to give quality food made from fine and fresh ingredients while keeping the price as affordable as they can.
Here are a couple of other things we loved on the menu:
SOMETHING HEALTHY. Have some greens to go with your pizza
House Salad (P158, US$3.60)
Fresh greens tossed with light ranch dressing and some fruits. Good for sharing and to whet yor appetite.
FOR FRIENDS. Another dish that's good for sharing is the Spinach Cheese Dip
Spinach Cheese Dip (P178, US$4.06)
This dish is a really good appetizer as well. The dip is made out of spinach and cream cheese and is baked prior to serving so do be careful as the dip can stil be very hot. It has a light salty-creamy taste  that is neutralized by the spinach. The bread it comes with is also light but can be very filling in your stomach.
THE AMBOY. It's an American-style dish with a Filipino twist
Angus beef belly smothered in the Filipino-favorite adobo sauce and served with ‘dirty rice’ – rice cooked with light spices, with salsa.
SPARE RIBS. With just a tinge of spicy
Tennessee Pork Spare Ribs (P268, US$6.11)
Strong flavored with a hint of spice, this dish might just make you cheat on your diet further by making you want more rice.
HEALTHIER ALTERNATIVE. They actually taste like potatoes
Fried Zucchini (P158, US$3.60)
Zucchini fries taste like your usual potato fries but only a bit softer and not too crispy. This dish also comes with 2 dips – honey mustard and salsa.
Drinks
HOME BREW. Some frozen iced tea to beat the heat
Frozen Iced Tea (P88, US$2.01)
Not too sweet and no ice to water it down. You can go bottomless for P108 (US$2.46).
FOR THE SWEET TOOTH. This milkshake can be considered as a dessert on its own
Salted Caramel Milkshake (P95, US$2.17)
This is perfect for people with a sweet tooth. The flavor is strong and actually goes well with their main courses, like the Amboy and the Spare Ribs.
Desserts
BANANAS AND CREAM. It's your banoffee pie in a cup
Banoffee Cobbler (P178, US$4.06)
If you’re a fan of some good old banoffee pie, you will love Mad for Pizza’s Banoffee Cobbler. It’s got everything you want in the banoffee pie – bananas, cream, and some crushed grahams – in a cup. Make sure you dig your spoon deep to get a little bit of everything in one spoonful.
ITALIAN CREAM. Sweet, cooked cream with a fruity twist
Panna Cotta (P178, US$4.06)
The serving size of Mad for Pizza’s Panna Cotta is pretty generous, and it’s kind of hard to finish alone (just like the Banoffee Cobbler). Their version of Italian cream comes with a hint of sweet, fruity flavors.
