What does Mark Zuckerberg's desk look like at work? The Facebook CEO gives us a quick tour

MANILA, Philippines – What does the head office of one of the world’s biggest brands look like? Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, debuting Facebook’s “live video” feature, took viewers on a quick tour in a video posted Tuesday, September 15.

Part of the Menlo Park, California office shown features a large, wide office floor with an open plan, without heavy walls dividing the teams. Mark also shows off his own desk – no glass and marble corner office for this CEO, instead, we see a neat desk with quite a few items on the table.

“The thing that’s notable about it is that it’s this massive open floor plan…the whole idea here is that by having an open floor plan where people work close to each other, it facilitates people sharing and communicating about what they’re doing, which enables better collaboration, which we think is key to building the best services for our community,” he said.

He also leads us to the conference room, noting that the space was designed with transparency and openness in mind. (READ: 5 reasons why you would want to visit the Google office

“One of the things that you’ll probably notice is that it’s all glass. The reason for this again is just that we want to create this very open and transparent culture in our company, where everyone can see what everyone else is working on, people can walk by and see the type of stuff that I’ve done working on, or who I’m meeting with,” he explained.

According to Mashable, employees moved into the new office March-April 2015, and the building was designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry.
