IN PHOTOS: 10 Christmas trees in Manila that will put you in a festive mood

MANILA, Philippines – There’s something about Christmas trees that puts even the most adamant Grinches in a holiday mood. After all, who wouldn’t be awed at a towering tree covered in thousands of fairy lights, stars, and other feel-good holiday trappings? 

If you don’t feel like it’s the Christmas season yet, a quick visit to these trees will do the trick. Just throw in some freshly made puto bumbong for good measure, and you’ll be in the holiday mood for sure. 

Araneta Center’s Christmas tree in Quezon City towers at 100 feet tall, and was lit up by celebrities including Vice Ganda and the Binibining Pilipinas beauty queens. 

Shangri-la at The Fort, BGC shows a different take on the traditional Christmas tree. Their main lobby features a white, geometric installation that looks like a deconstructed Christmas tree. The installation was conceptualized by top designer Bea Valdes.

Central Square in BGC has their Christmas tree right in the middle of all their shops, adding a Yuletide feeling to what can sometimes be a stressful chore: Christmas shopping. To add to the festivities, the mall is hosting family-friendly workshops and activities on all weekends of December.

The tree in Discovery Suites Ortigas is lit up by workout bikes from cycling gym Ride Revolution. 

City of Dreams on Roxas Boulevard mixed it up with a European-themed tableau, which included a log cabin, tin soldiers, and a 32-foot snow-frosted tree. 

Filinvest City in Alabang got futuristic with their festive decor. They have a 3D-mapped Christmas Tree as the centerpiece of their “Sparkle of Christmas” lights and sounds show, which runs every weekend until December 31.

It’s a sweet Christmas at Marco Polo in Ortigas, with their dessert-themed tree covered in gingerbread houses.

Peninsula Manila’s iconic lobby glittered with a towering Christmas tree festooned with red, gold, and silver decor.

Okada Manila in Parañaque puts a spin on the traditional tree, with green garlands creating a crisscross pattern across the tree’s glowing base.

Sofitel Philippine Plaza’s Christmas tree takes the spotlight by the hotel’s grand spiral staircase. The decor has a musical theme, with gold and silver notes all over the tree.
