MANILA, Philippines – Fashion designer Guillermo “Gerry” Katigbak died on Saturday, October 10. He was 64 years old. 

In an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Gerry’s good friend Tonichi Nocom said that Gerry went out jogging but cut it short as he was feeling dizzy. According to a report from the Manila Bulletin, Gerry died due to cardiac arrest. 

Aside from his work in fashion design, Gerry was also an accomplished stylist, photographer and choreographer. He also taught fashion classes at the College of St. Benilde and SOFA Institute. 

A native of Batangas, Gerry was a member of the Fashion Design Council (FDCP) of the Philippines. According to the Varsitarian, he started his career in the ‘70s as one of the in-house designers for Rustans. Gerry is an alumni of University of Sto. Tomas, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts.
