MANILA, Philippines – Every year, fans all over the Philippines mark their calendars for the Star Magic Ball to see their favorite celebs dressed to the nines on the red carpet. It’s the scene of many a kilig moment, and sometimes, the confirmation (or denial!) of a relationship or two. And of course, there are the show-stopping moments from our best dressed stars on the red carpet. (VOTE: Who was your best dressed at Star Magic Ball 2016?)

As on star cheerfully said in the ANC broadcast online, the Star Magic Ball is like a more grown-up prom, where everyone gets to mingle and let their hair down despite everyone’s busy schedules.

We’re sure you have your favorites from the evening (theme black and white), and meanwhile, here are ours:

Maricar Reyes Poon

Always glowing and forever oozing confidence and grace, Maricar Reyes Poon tops our list again this year in a striking black gown by Ivar Aseron.

Bea Alonzo

Bea always looks beautiful on the red carpet, but she was even more of a standout at the ball in her understated, cool Tom Ford outfit.

Julia Barretto

Julia’s gown may have had a simple and understated silhouette, but she still stunned in the sequined black dress by Michael Cinco, which flowed into intricate leaf cutouts.

Jodi Sta Maria

Jodi’s famous smize lights up any red carpet, and tonight was no exception. We love that detail framing her torso and wrapping elegantly around her arms. Jodi wore a gown by Mark Bumgarner.

Liza Soberano

Liza didn’t go with black or white, but wowed anyway in a stunning grayish blue gown by Michael Cinco.

Kathryn Bernardo

Kathryn elegantly worked the red carpet with Daniel Padilla in a strapless, intricately beaded gown by Michael Cinco, completing the look with beautiful sparkling necklace.

Arci Muñoz

Arci isn’t shy about showing some skin and her Star Magic Ball look didn’t disappoint. She came in a bold blue number with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit by Francis Libiran.

Shaina Magdayao

Shaina has perfected her red carpet pose; she looks statuesque and very comfortable on the red carpet in a striking gown by Popo Go.

Kim Jones

Kim Jones took her elegant black gown by  to the next level by accesorizing with a bright blue clutch.

Jessy Mendiola

Jessy’s body-hugging black gown by John Rufo flared out into a flowing skirt and train. She accessorized with a red clutch, which matched her date’s outfit too.

Kim Chiu

Kim has always gone for sparkly, attention-grabbing gowns, but she and date Xian Lim changed things up this year with an edgier look. Kim showed off an on-trend choker detail, while Xian, in a departure from his usual clean-cut look, rocked a longer haircut (with facial hair!).

Maja Salvador

Maja is unafraid to rock a big, voluminous gown, but this time, she went for clean lines and a straighter silhouette. She stood tall on the red carpet and looked amazing in photos.

Janella Salvador

Janella showed off her figure in a beaded white number by Jo Rubio, which ended in a flowing skirt.

Coleen Garcia

Coleen was a vision in her black gown by Pepsi Herrera, as she worked the red carpet with her boyvriend Billy Crawford. She let her dress – with its plunging deep-V neckline and voluminous skirt with leaf-shaped designs – have all the attention, accesorizing with simple earings and a sleek black clutch.

Angelica Panganiban

Angelica wore a beautifully crafted Vania Romoff piece, coolly working the red carpet in her collared dress with her hands in her pockets.

Piolo Pascual

A handsome Piolo Pascual walked the red carpet in a suit by Ivarluski Aseron, turning heads with his white coat with black lapels.

Gerald Anderson

Another guy who opted for a white coat, Gerald’s white-on-white look by Joey Espiritu was broken up by his black bowtie and pocket square.

John Lloyd Cruz

John Lloyd kept his look casual by leaving the second button of his white coat with black details unbuttoned. His suit was by Gucci.

Zanjoe Marudo

Zanjoe won best dressed of the night, keeping it classic in a Lanvin suit with a white shirt with black buttons and black coat.

Xian Lim

Xian broke things up with a black waistcoat between his white shirt and coat. He completed the look by deviating form his usual clean-cut style, opting for messy long hair and a well-groomed beard.
