We swatched 5 different colors of H&M Beauty's matte and cream lipsticks

MANILA, Philippines – H&M Beauty opened it’s first Philippine store at the SM Mega Fashion Hall on September 15, and Manila beauty junkies were all for it – some lined up outside the store as early as 6:30 am, well before the scheduled 10 am opening time.

Many of those who fell in line – and were rewarded with H&M GCs for their efforts – singled out the lipsticks as their main goal, saying they liked or looked forward to the lipstick for its smooth formula and high color payoff, as well as its almost unbelievable variety of colors.

We got 5 different shades of H&M Beauty’s most coveted products. Among our haul were London Season (a rosy brown nude) and Lenox Lounge (a dark red with a hint of brown) in matte; and Pomegranate (a bright red), Bonbon (bright carnation pink), and Mauveine Queen (an orchid purple) in cream. We swatched all shades on both light and dark skin tones.

As expected, the cream lipsticks go on smoothly and feel light on the lips – though they require a few swipes to get a good opaque coat of color.

The matte lipsticks have a bit more resistance when they go on, but the color comes off dark and pigmented.

Interestingly enough, all 5 shades – from the understated nude to the lustrous purple – looked good on both light and dark skin.

Each tube costs P599, and is available at H&M Beauty. – Rappler.com
