MANILA, Philippines – Fancy the chance to dress just like your favorite sports idol? 

UNIQLO launched its new Dry EX game wear collection, inspired by UNIQLO global ambassador Swiss tennis pro Roger Federer. The collection offers replica game wear and items that were worn at the 2019 French Open by Roger Federer himself.

Federer also had a say in the making of the collection. “I had frequent consultations with the development team, and I’m extremely pleased with the game wear they’ve created,” he said in a media statement.

“It is exceptionally high-quality, not only in terms of the silhouette and coloring, but it also has the functionality I need during play. This will be my first appearance at Roland Garros since 2015, and I’m looking forward to playing in UNIQLO game wear,” he added.

The Roger Federer model, inspired by tennis wear of the late 70s to 80s, features classic, refined colors – a sophisticated scheme of beige, off-white, and deep red.

Of course, it isn’t just about style, but also of comfort – the shirt’s mesh shoulders and sides enable high-performance on the court, as tested by Federer during play. 

Overall, the special Dry EX material of the collection uses a special arched structure, which helps clothing dry faster than ordinary material. 

It also prevents that icky, sticky feeling of perspiration, ensuring that athletes stay comfortable during physical exercise. Breathable mesh is used in typically sweat-prone areas. 

The new UNIQLO game wear collection includes the polo shirt (P1,990) and short pants (P1,990) in two colors, as well as tennis wristbands (P390) and tennis socks (P390).
