Founded by a morena with a passion for promoting local, Baked By Morena’s cookie cake is made with homegrown ingredients, like cacao nibs from Davao and Gingoog, tablea from Camiguin, and locally-sourced flour.

Her 3-layer cookie cake features her best-selling chocolate chip cookies, which remain the rightful star of the cookie cake show. Her cookie is slightly crisp on the outside but soft, moist, and chewy in the center, baked with bittersweet melted chunks of rich chocolate inside.

The chocolate chip cookie is the top layer of the cake, followed by a thin middle layer of mild chocolate ganache that acts more like the glue between the bottom layer, which is a buttery and moist shortbread crust. Sprinkled on top are cacao nibs and organic sugar.

With one forkful you get all 3 layers, with the soft, chewy chocolate chip cookie shining the most out of the 3 elements. The shortbread crust adds a crumbly texture to the dessert and isn’t too sugary either, so there’s not much of a too-sweet umay factor here!
