Lalamove says that it will focus on their 'core delivery business' for 2021

Lalamove’s food delivery arm LalaFood announced that it will cease operations in the Philippines beginning February 15, 2021.

In a Facebook post on Monday, February 8, LalaFood said that although Lalamove has learned a “great deal” from its food delivery business, they decided to “redirect their focus on their core delivery business” for 2021.

“We express our deepest gratitude to all of LalaFood’s customers for your continued support, and to our partner riders and merchants who were with us throughout this journey,” they wrote.

They said that Lalamove will focus on their growth and strengthening their investment in the Philippines this year “to better serve [their] customers and provide more opportunities for rider-partners and employees.”

Expansion plans are in development in Manila and around Pampanga this February, as they “place great confidence in the Philippine market.”

“The year is just unfolding and there is so much in store for us all,” they added.

LalaFood was launched in the Philippines in 2018. Lalamove was founded in Hong Kong in 2013 and currently operates in several countries across Asia and South America. – Rappler.com
