These Cebu taquerias take Taco Tuesdays to the next level

Cebu is known for its colorful takes on different cuisines from different nations. Tacos are no exception.

The taco is a traditional Mexican dish consisting of a small hand-sized corn or wheat tortilla topped with a filling. This dish is also becoming a popular lunch and dinner choice for many Cebuanos who are on the go.

While health protocols are still in effect, Cebu-grown Mexican restos have begun reopening for customers or are now available for delivery with the help of third-party delivery services.

Here’s a list of the best places to get tacos (and burritos, as a bonus) in Cebu:

Red Lizard

The homegrown concept from The Abaca Group, Red Lizard, has wowed Cebuanos with its lucha libre murals in all of its outlets. Of course, there’s its famous superhero mascot also named Red Lizard.

Red Lizard’s menu is a mix of Tex-Mex favorites such as hard and soft shell tacos, taquitos, macho nachos, and gigantic burritos.

When in Red Lizard, you should not miss out on their delicious Los Tacos Originales made with their own homemade taco meat, iceberg lettuce, queso fundido, and salsa roja. It costs P159 for two tacos.

They also have Soft Flour Tacos available for P129, which you can get in 5 different meat varieties.

Currently, Red Lizard has three main outlets in Cebu City at I.T. Park, Ayala, and SM City Cebu.
