Ludo: Boardgame Bar and Cafe says goodbye
After 6 years, the resto-bar and board game cafe shuts down its Quezon City and Makati branches

Restaurant, bar, and board game cafe Ludo closed both of its branches in Quezon City and Makati City after 6 years in business.

In a September 26 Facebook post, the team behind Ludo announced Ludo’s closure – 6 friends with the same vision of “spreading their love for gaming.”

“We achieved [our vision] by putting up Ludo Boardgame Bar and Cafe. In the beginning, our friends and relatives thought our dreams were foolish, but we did it anyway,” they wrote.

“We have met many wonderful and loyal customers along the way. Many who shared in our dreams of creating a place where everyone can play tabletop games to their hearts’ content. We have worked with an amazing set of staff over the years who turned our vision into reality.”

Ludo said that they would be back in a new location, once “everything is right in the world.”

“Whenever it’s safe for friends and family to sit together once again to roll some dice, play some cards, and move some pieces. This is not a ‘goodbye,’ but rather a ‘see you again soon,'” they added.

Even though its physical branches are closed, Ludo is still offering board games for sale via its Shopee store or website.

Ludo’s two branches, which each had hundreds of playable games in their libraries, were located along Scout Torillo, Quezon City, and Jupiter Street, Makati. They were open until midnight on weekdays and 2 am on weekends, serving hot meals, coffee, alcoholic drinks, and bar chow. – Rappler.com
