Get mango, strawberry, dalgona donuts from this Manila home bakery

This online business is run by a mother and her son Matteo, who also helps with the baking

It seems that donut sandwiches stuffed with fruits and fillings are all the rage now. Home bakery Ausome Goodies by Matteo is right on trend, serving homemade stuffed donuts in with berry, mango, and dalgona flavors “made with love, rainbows, and songs.”

How Ausome became awesome

Before donuts, Ausome Goodies specialized in cookies. The business was founded by Ella at the start of lockdown, whose main job as a flight attendant was compromised due to limited flights. It was when she could no longer bring home the favorite cookies of her son Matteo from the US that the idea came to life.

“At that time, Matteo regularly followed YouTube videos of moms and kids baking. So I asked my husband if we can try that,” Ella told Rappler, explaining that it was part of her efforts to lessen the gadget time of her young son.

“Matteo has Autism Spectrum Disorder and has sensory issues that gets triggered by loud noise and vibration. But due to his interest in replicating the videos he saw, he managed to cope with the noise and vibration of the mixer,” Ella said.

Together, mother and son started baking cookies, and in a few days, they began selling them to close friends and family. Due to popular demand, Ausome Goodies by Matteo eventually became a full-fledged home baking business.

Donut miss out on these

Ausome Goodies only recently started selling their own take on the popular donut sandwiches, but have already gained a fanbase. Their pretty Berry Donuts feature their original frosted, sugar-glazed donut split in the middle, sandwiching fluffy, sweet cream, strawberry jelly, and a generous serving of fresh, juicy whole strawberries; a sweet and tangy treat complemented by Ausome’s soft, chewy donuts.

If you’re a fan of sweet mango, try out Ausome’s Mango Donuts, which are stuffed with fresh, ripe, yellow mango cubes and a sweet, light cream.

Their newest flavor is also a must-try, especially if you’re a sucker for the quarantine Dalgona coffee trend. Ausome’s Dalgonuts feature a heaping serving of fluffy, coffee-infused cream and chunky cubes of crunchy, sweet honeycomb; it’s perfect for fans of sweet and strong coffee flavors.

Each box of four pieces costs P279. You can also opt for the combo donuts box, which lets you mix and match from the 3 flavors, for the same price.

Ausome Goodies is located in Pandacan, Manila and is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm. You can place your orders via their Instagram page. – Rappler.com
