The Poblacion favorite's second branch features a Kapitolyo-exclusive menu, like plant-based siomai and bangus relleno

Calling all plant-based food enthusiasts! Poblacion’s well-known vegan restaurant Cosmic opened their second branch in Kapitolyo, Pasig City, on Friday, March 26.

Cosmic’s original menu features 100% plant-based favorites like their bagnet kare-kare, sisig, BBQ isaw, burgers, tofu sinigang, beanuguan, and more. Their Kapitolyo branch menu adds new offerings, like the the Vegan Un-pork Siomai (P105) and Vegan Bangus Relleno (P140), which will only be available at their Kapitolyo branch.

The Kapitolyo branch is open for online orders only, for now, via Cosmic’s website or SMS at 09457403608/09686931344.

“As a small business, we cannot thank our customers and our staff enough who have been with us all throughout this difficult period. You’ve been supporting us and we only want to give back by making our offerings available to more cities, starting with our second branch at Kapitolyo, Pasig,” they wrote in a Facebook post.

“We hope you give us the same support you’ve been giving us in Poblacion. Spread the word, invite your friends and family from the area. It’s time to make the switch to a lifestyle that is cruelty-free. Prove to your friends and family that going Vegan isn’t expensive. Slowly convince them one vegan sisig at a time. See you there,” they added.

The humble restaurant put up its first branch in Poblacion, Makati, in 2018. The place is known for its affordable prices and filling menu, helping to debunk a misconception that vegan food is expensive and bland.

Cosmic, hailed for vegan-izing comfort Filipino food that both vegans and omnivores enjoy, remains strong during the pandemic with its takeout and delivery options on their Facebook page and website. – with reports from Andrea Tibayan/Rappler.com
