Spooky and sweet! Where to get Halloween-themed cakes, pastries

MANILA, Philippines – Halloween is right around the corner! Are you already preparing your costumes, bringing out the decor, and getting ready for the much-awaited return of in-person Halloween parties? Aside from these, it’s also a must to make sure that your home stash of spook-tacular treats and boo-tiful pastries is on point, in theme, and ready for the weekend.

Here are a few favorite local establishments to hit up for your deadly dose of Halloween-themed sweets and treats!

Krispy Kreme

Donut chain Krispy Kreme is offering a new line-up of adorable Halloween treats this year called Krispy Skreme: Spell Book Doughnuts!

For a limited time from October 14 to November 2, you can buy six fun varieties of Spell Book-themed donuts topped with different chocolate toppings: Our Wicked Witch, Witch’s Broom, Enchanted Apple, Black Cat, Book of Spell, and Magic Cauldron. Each donut starts at P65 each.

KK is also offering cute Halloween Minis with purple and orange frostings and black sprinkles. Prices start at P270 for a box of 12. These spooky treats are available in Krispy Kreme branches nationwide or for delivery via website.

Randy’s Donuts

Los Angeles-based donut joint Randy’s Donuts has made a splash in the Metro since they opened its first branch in BGC in May. Now, it’s ready for Halloween with the release of four scary-good designs: Choc-O Spider Web, Vanilla Icey Web, Spider-rific!, and Monster Eye. These donuts will be sold under the Classic line costing P95 per donut, P550 for a box of six, and P1,045 for a box of 12. 

These huge donuts will be available in all four of their branches: Uptown Parade BGC, S Maison Pasay, Robinsons Magnolia, and Okada Manila.

M Bakery

M Bakery is also boarding the Halloween train by offering spookily creative designs of its signature cupcakes and cakes – from an eerie Jack-O-Lantern cake to Mummy, Eyeball, and Monster cupcakes, to Boo Cupcakes with marshmallow meringue icing! The Halloween cupcakes are made with chocolate or vanilla cupcakes and colored buttercream icing, and cost P165 each or P990 for a box of six.

There are also Halloween Mini Cupcakes for P840 a dozen that features 12 chocolate or vanilla cupcakes with other Halloween characters that kids will love. M Bakery’s Red Velvet Cake also comes in a new Spider Web Cake design, while the Vanilla or Chocolate Cakes come in Frankenstein, Jack-O-Lantern, and Monster designs. They’re available in 6″ and 9″ inch sizes.

M Bakery’s Halloween treats are available in the One Bonifacio High Street Mall and Rockwell Powerplant Mall branches.

Cupcakes by Sonja

Popular cupcake chain Cupcakes by Sonja has joined the Halloween celebration with a Spooktacular Cupcake box of six for P850 and Monster Mini Cupcakes in a box of 12 for P650. It’s also offering a DIY Cupcake Set box of four for P750, which adds some interactive fun to the holiday!

For something larger, the DIY Cookie House Set goes for P1,000 and the Trick or Treat Candy Pumpkin Cake filled with M&Ms and sprinkles goes for P1,300. You can pick up the treats from Cupcakes by Sonja’s branches in Serendra, Chino Roces Avenue, SM Megamall, and Molito in Alabang. 

Amanda’s Oven

Home-based, small-scale bakery Amanda’s Oven offers her signature chocolate cupcakes in “Spook-Friends” designs with milk chocolate ganache filling and whipped white chocolate frosting for P2,200.

She is also offering The Witch’s Pumpkin Patch, a beautiful assortment of pumpkin-shaped vanilla butter shortbread cookies with an array of sweet treats like Gummy Worms, Milk Chocolate Dip, Worm Drippings (Maltesers), Ghost Pretzels, and Cookie Jack-O-Lanterns for P1,800. You can snag these creations only through delivery in Metro Manila via her Facebook page.

J.Co Donuts

The donut chain hailing from Indonesia has released a limited edition Haunted Halloween line of donuts, including a chocolate ganache Skellington design and a cream-cheese-filled Nightwing donut.
