‘Méme: The Baby Book’ shows ‘real moments’ of raising a baby
The Filipino-English children's picture book reveals the 'uncensored' adventures of parenthood – from pooping, peeing, breastfeeding, and everything else in between

Tahanan Books released a new children’s picture book called Méme: The Baby Book – a showcase of the real, “uncensored” daily adventures of parenthood and a Filipino baby’s life, from crying, peeing, breastfeeding, pooping, sleeping, and everything else in between.

The Filipino-English bilingual book is written by Reni Roxas and illustrated by award-winning artist Kora Dandan-Albano.

“Long before it was used to describe a virally transmitted unit of information, méme was a well-worn word passed from parent to child for generations of Filipinos. To this day, there are families who practice this time-honored tradition, when whispering “méme” to an infant meant to give him the best gift of all—the gift of sleep,” Tahanan Books said in a statement.

The book also includes an English-Filipino dictionary at the back where all the Filipino expressions and terms used in the book are translated into English for readers’ reference.

Readers can order their copies online via Tahanan Books’ website. Standard delivery rates will apply for Metro Manila and areas outside. International shipping can also be accommodated – just get in touch with Tahanan Books at (02)8813-7165; 09163837238, or 09610379700. – Rappler.com
