
The Philippines Readers and Writers Festival by National Book Store will push through online from September 28 to October 4. The festival gathers some of the country’s top writers, artists, and personalities for a series of discussions and interviews that will be streamed on National Bookstore’s Facebook page for free.
Selected discussions will be simulcast on Shopee and Lazada.
Speakers who will take part in the festival includes historian Ambeth R. Ocampo, who will talk about the value of history in quarantine, Lourd de Veyra, who will share poetry’s function in social commentary, and director Jason Paul Laxamana, who will be talking about the book Anitu.
Aside from the interviews and discussions, National Book Store announced that books featured in the festival are available for purchase in NBS bookstores, via their website (nationabookstore.com), and on its official stores in Shopee and Lazada. Special discounts are available online from September 28 to October 4 with imported titles discounted at up to 20% and 10% for local titles.
Now on its 7th year, the Philippines Readers and Writers Festival is an annual event by National Book Store and Raffles Makati.
