MANILA, Philippines – We’ve seen a lot of sweet marriage proposals lately, but this one that’s recently been making the rounds on the Internet is most definitely extra sweet.
YouTuber Tyler Shelton, always thought that he would ask his girlfriend Haylee Rose’s dad for his blessing in marriage one day. When her father, Greg Rose, passed away about a year ago, things changed, but Tyler was determined to find a way. Instead, he asked Haylee’s siblings for permission and recorded their reactions, including them in his video.
“Everybody in our family knows dad would 100% want you guys to get married,” said Haylee’s brother Grant over the phone.
“He loved you for sure, just like a son as well,” Grant added. Given that Tyler met Haylee in middle school 7 years ago, it’s no surprise that Grant also mentioned that he figured the couple would probably get married.
Tyler has been documenting every day of his 20s on his YouTube vlog, which explains why he has so many snippets of his and Haylee’s lives and travels on film. According to his website, he has only documented one year of his 20s so far – the year that he was 20-years-old.
So far, his experiment has only been going on for a year, but he plans on finishing all 10 years and watching himself grow up. Tyler also took the time to include shots of Greg and some of the family’s home videos.
The beautiful video included an open letter to Haylee’s dad. “I’m going to marry your daughter. I always thought of how I would ask you for your blessing one day, and now that day is here,” he said. “I will take care of her,” he promised.
Tyler proposed to Haylee on May 31 in Rome. She said yes.
