#ShortScares: Scary stories in 140 characters or less

MANILA, Philippines - It's that time of the year when it's okay to be scared.

While most Filipinos remember their loved ones who have left the land of the living, another popular pastime during the Undas season is exchanging horror stories. From really spooky ones to silly jokes involving ghosts, ghouls, and other things that go bump in the night, we never run out of stories to share.

On Friday evening, Nov 1, 2013, Rappler kicked the storytelling a notch higher with trending topic #ShortScares. We asked Twitter users to share terrifying tales in 140 characters or less.

We were able to get a lot of responses right away, from the really freaky, like this one from @caiklin: "There was a picture in my phone of me sleeping. I live alone," and this one from @kiminthebullet: "Skyping with a friend and she says, "Oh you have someone over?" And you don't,"  to the really funny, like this one from @iamCrazyRicky: "May nakita kang ipis. Papatayin mo na sana, tapos biglang lumipad." (You were about to kill a cockroach, but it flew away.)
