MANILA, Philippines - Mandie had no plans of joining a beauty pageant until she was inspired by Miss Universe 2012 first runner up Janine Tugonon’s success.
A Tourism student in De La Salle College of St. Benilde, she is training to become a photographer like her mom Mandy Navasero and is fond of taking photos of people and places.
Mandie is a fan of Broadway. She adores the musicals "Phantom of the Opera" and "Les Miserables" and Filipina Broadway star Lea Salonga.
Mandie considers Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz as her role model, a woman whom she believes inspired people and put the Philippines on the map.
In these changing times, courage and clarity become even more important.
