MANILA, Philippines – There were cheers, whistles, roars of approval, all against the parade music and the official Binibining Pilipinas song.
This was the cacophony that greeted spectators standing by at the 2014 Binibining Pilipinas Parade of Beauties on March 22, which began at the Expo Centro and concluded at the Gateway Pavillon.
Riding colorful floats themed according to popular Philippine festivals, this year’s top 40 binibinis dressed up in their bikini best, all while wearing elaborate headresses and basking under the summer sun.

The activities are leading up to the big coronation night on March 30, which will also feature a performance from prominent pop star Emin, as well as an appearance from the reigning Miss Universe, Venezuela’s Maria Gabriela Isler.
This also follows the previous events in this year’s Bb Pilipinas calendar, which includes February 14’s talent show, which saw 12 out of the top 40 give their all in song and dance, February 19’s swimsuit presentation, and two runway shows: the casual wear fashion show and national costume competition, both on March 6.
