MANILA, Philippines– The Binibining Pilipinas 2015 winners all agree that if there is one crown they want to win, it would definitely be the Miss Universe crown.

“Of course I think it’s Miss Universe. Kasi iyon naman ang lahat ang ina-aim ng mga candidates, so siguro iyon,” Bb Pilipinas Tourism Ann Lorraine Colis said during an interview on The Buzz, Sunday, March 22. (Because all the candidates aim for that crown, so that would be the one.)

Bb Pilipinas International Janicel Lubina on the other hand was asked to compare herself to Pia Wurtzbach who won the Miss Universe Philippines crown

“Honestly siguro destiny ni Pia that night. And siguro, I know in myself na may mga pagkukulang ako. (I could still learn.) I mean hindi pa ako kaganun (I am not yet that) capable to do the responsibilities as Miss Universe. And for me, I am happy na nakuha ko yung (I got the) Miss International because I think I can do all my best, ” she said.

Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Rogelie Catacutan and Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental Christi Lynn McGarry meanwhile spoke about the crown switching issue that made headlines after coronation. (READ:Christi Lynn McGarry to remain Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental)

Many were confused over Christi winning the title of Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015.  Christi competed in the Miss Intercontinental pageant in 2010, when it was still under a different franchise.

Bale hindi naman sa ayaw ko, pero kasi eto yung nanalunan ko. So bale ginusto ko na po eto and minahal ko naman etong crown na eto.  Nung nag-usap kami regarding this one, I told those people involved here na, kung eto yung mas mabuti sa aming dalawa na magpalit kami ng korona, I will definitely say yes. Pero nabigyan naman po ng solusyon kaya I will stick to my Supranational title,” Rogelie said.

(It is not that I do not want [to switch]  but this is what I (Supranational title) won. And I wanted this and loved this crown. So when we talked about regarding this one, I told those people involved here, if switching the crowns between the two of us is the best choice, I will definitely say yes. But there was a solution to the matter, so I will stick to my Supranational title.)

“I did not want to force anyone to switch crowns. I was okay with the crown that was given. There was just a little bit of confusion,” Christi added.

Christi said that Binibining Pilipinas Charities Incorporated (BPCI) told them they were able to clarify it with the organizers of the pageant, and that they will still be sent on their respective assignments.

Pia Wurtzbach, who won the title of Miss Universe Philippines after 3 tries, said that she really took time to think about joining the pageant again. Before bagging the crown, Pia placed 1st runner-up in 2013 and made it to the top 15 in 2014. (IN PHOTOS: Pia Wurtzbach’s 3-year Bb Pilipinas journey)

“I was trying to weigh the pros and the cons of me joining again. Not a lot of people know how hard it is to join a beauty pageant. You really sacrifice a lot of time and a lot of effort, and of course it hurts when you don’t make it especially when you put so much hard work in it,” Pia said.

“I really had to reflect and contemplate if I was ready to do it again. I wanted to but the question was ‘am I ready?’ So I had to think about and finally I made a decision and I am here.” –Rappler.com
