"There should be strict implementation of our city ordinances which includes the 'no throwing of garbage' policy in any body of water. Come up with an annual event or contest for the cleanest lake or river which will be participated in by different local government units."
Describe your childhood/growing-up years (8-13 years old):
My childhood years were so much fun. It was the time when technologies like cellular phones and computers were still trying to make a name on young people’s minds. Social media sites and portable gadgets were not part of us. Instead, we played in the fields and flew kites there, we rode our bicycles, we used our imagination in creating our own bahay-bahay, and the like. I even experienced riding on a raft pulled by a carabao. It’s the best!
Most memorable moment:
The first time I managed to handle a Normal Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery. It was the time I appreciated the beauty of life.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
I believe that these changes in our ecosystem were brought about by our ignorance of the effects of our actions towards the environment. To overcome this problem, one must first realize that that is something that needs to be changed and if learning has occurred, there will be a change in behavior. In nursing, I have learned that the first level of healthcare delivery is focused on health promotion and disease prevention which can be achieved through information, education, and a campaign.
