Ms PH Earth Manila: Alyanna Andrea Amistad
MANILA, Philippines - In line with the Miss Philippines Earth 2013 pageant's water conservation theme, this 20-year-old BS Business Administration Major in Marketing Management student says, "Substantial stakeholders such as government and private organizations can work together to ensure proper sanitation of our nation’s water bodies and reservoirs. They must also secure an orderly dissemination of water resource around our country most especially in pastoral areas."
Describe your childhood/growing-up years (8-13 years old):
I grew up only with my mother’s side. As an only child and the first grandchild in the family, my early childhood years were full of mollycoddling. My elementary years were very focused on extra-curricular activities. I have been so much into performing arts — singing, theater, and dancing — but on top of them, I have always excelled in dance, particularly in ballet and jazz. Back then in school, I always made it a point to perform and showcase my talent to a lot of people.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My environmental advocacy is water management and conservation. Clean and accessible water is indispensable to every living thing’s welfare, and it has been acknowledged by history as a basic human right.
