Ms PH Earth Dinalupihan, Bataan: Monique Manuel
NAME: Monique Teruelle P. Manuel
MUNICIPALITY OR CITY: Municipality of Dinalupihan
Describe your childhood: I live in a Christ-centered family wherein serving the Catholic Church has been part of my daily lifestyle. I am involved in the church activities from our church choir, street plays and dance. As a young youth leader for Parish Youth Council, we do outreach activities for remote and depressed communities, we travel to local barangays to educate the youth into their faith in God through service and solidarity.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood?: At an early age, I was exposed to serving the people and helping the community by being an empowered youth leader. I always find delight in the beauty and simplicity of our locality. Through this experience, I have learned that we have been blessed with beautiful things in life provided by nature. But when we think of it as a resource, we become blind to its beauty that we forget to see what makes the environment special and wonderful. We sometimes destroy what we do not understand.
What is your most memorable moment?: My most memorable moment was when I presented my college diploma to the person who became my inspiration and motivation to finish my education with flying colors . Education plays a very significant role in a person's life for it will prepare you for realities, opportunities and personal successes. That moment made me feel proud about myself for I am now prepared and equipped to pursue my passions and achieve greater heights.
What is your environmental advocacy?: My advocacy is to GO ORGANIC TO REVERSE THE EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING... By going organic, you support an institution that significantly reduce the use of Carbon Dioxide, one of the main greenhouse gases responsible for the earth's warming... So choose the right food and you can help reverse global warming, boost our economy and make lives better for our farmers.
