Lessons learned from childhood: My father always told me that hope is greater than fear. If you always have faith in yourself, faith in God, and have a positive outlook in life, nothing will bring you fear in achieving your dreams. I have been living my life with these words in my heart.
Most memorable moment: Since I was young, many people would think that I am a strong person. But I believe that a fighter is not born but made. I was bullied in my high school years and it was the most memorable stage in my life. My self-confidence reached rock bottom and I found no friends except my family. Through that experience, I rose back again with the help of my loved ones and faith in God that all trials will come to pass. I learned how to speak for myself and I learned that I have a voice. I may have had a bad experience but I’m thankful that in the end a lesson was still learned which is to forgive.
Environmental advocacy: We might think that water is abundant because it covers 71% of the Earth’s surface, but unfortunately, everything is scarce. This is the natural law of economics and life, that’s why I implore people to help me conserve and preserve our water resources. It’s saddening that most people are ignorant of how much water is wasted everyday. We are using it like we use fossil fuel relentlessly. I am sure that raising awareness and educating our children will have a huge impact in the future. We can just curb our water usage and take baths with a dipper instead of taking showers. These simple acts of heroism to Mother Earth will create a domino effect which just might save us in the future. – Rappler.com
