NAME: Joselle S. Mariano
REGION: Trece Martires City, Cavite
How she describes her childhood: At the age of 8, I learned how to swim. By the age of 9, I began to compete. I compete up to the national level until now. For my educational background, I could say that it has been a very studious years.
Lessons learned from childhood: Being an athlete for almost 10 years helped me become a sportsman, which is good. I learned how to value time at an early age. I also learned how to respect others’ feelings, which is definitely nice. And most especially, I now know how it feels to be a winner and a loser. The thing is, never give up on your dreams because dreams really do come true.
Most memorable moment: When I got in to SCUAA Meet year 2012 .
Environmental advocacy: My environmental advocacy is to push sustainable development as an organizing principle for human life on earth. Sustainable development is a development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It is a known fact that the government cannot achieve sustainable development on their own, so, we all have a part to play small actions, which, taken collectively, can add up to real change. – Rappler.com
