Megan Young leaves for Indonesia
MANILA, Philippines - Miss World Philippines 2013 Megan Young left for Indonesia on September 3, 8:40pm aboard a Philippine Airlines flight.
The first part of the international competition will take place in Bali. The coronation night will take place in Jakarta on September 28.

Before boarding the plane, Megan spent a few hours with the media and granted short interviews at the NAIA Terminal 2 VIP Lounge.
Miss World Philippines pageant director Cory Quirino, Arnold Vegafria and Jonas Gaffud and Mark Besana of Aces and Queens — the team that trained Megan for the national and international pageants — were there to see her off.
Her siblings Victor and actress Lauren [see lead photo] were also there.
Megan will compete with 119 other ladies from various countries in the pageant organized by the London-based Miss World Organization, spearheaded by Julia Morley.
She is currently neck-and-neck with Miss Malaysia in the Miss World app votes. The app is available on iOS and Android.
'A vote for Megan is a vote for the Philippines'
"I'm hopeful, excited, almost exuberant because of the overwhelming support and response I [have] received from our fellow countrymen not just here in the Philippines but all over the world," Cory Quirino told Rappler, referring to Megan's number one placing in the Miss World app votes.
"Magpapatalo ba tayo? Hindi, 'di ba? So mananawagan tayo sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan sa buong mundo: please vote for Megan Young." [Will we let ourselves be beaten? No, right? So we are calling out to all our fellow Filipinos all over the world: please vote for Megan Young.]
Cory is also asking everyone to think positive.
"Send victory-affirming, good feelings towards Megan. Don't think about your fears. Think about the victory. Think about the honor for the country," she said, sharing that the Philippines has a very strong chance at the crown.
"I had that feeling with Gwen [Ruais] before she left. I also had that feeling with Queenie [Rehman], and both placed very well in the Miss World pageant. The feeling I have with Megan is stronger."
Megan is prepared to compete in every pageant event, from Dances of the World [where she will dance the Singkil] and to the Sports Challenge [she said at her Greenhills sendoff party that she is prepared to do "push-ups and sit-ups non-stop"].
"She will not miss out on any event whatsoever just to win an extra point for the Philippines," Cory said.
As of writing, pageant followers have informed this writer that Megan's roommate in Bali is Miss Japan.
Miss World 2011 First Princess Gwendolyn Ruais is one of the pageant's web presenters, along with Miss Scotland 2011Jennifer Reoch and Mr World 2012 Francisco Escobar.
Here is Gwen and Jennifer's first video together, posted on YouTube on Sept 3:
