Photo recap: Miss World Philippines 2016 coronation night
Miss World Philippines 2015 Hillarie Parungao passed her crown on to Catriona at the Manila Hotel on Sunday, October 2.
Catriona is set to represent the country in the upcoming international pageant, Miss World 2016, to be held on December 18 in Washington, DC, USA.
Before Catriona gets ready for the pageant in December, let's have a look back at what happened during Miss World Philippines 2016.
The night started off with a song and dance number as the 24 Miss World Philippines finalists were presented onstage.
The night's hosts were Richard Gutierrez, Gwendoline Ruias, and Queenie Rehman, and they were helped out by Lauren Reid and Rachelle Peters, who gave fun facts about the pageant in between segments.
After the top 12 and the special awards were announced, the 12 ladies moved on to the question and answer portion, where they were asked about the challenges they faced throughout the pageant, the most significant events in their lives, cyberbullying, and social media.
All 24 contestants were seranaded by Mark Bautista and Ronnie Liang, before the Top 5 were asked to answer the question, "Why should you be the next Miss World Philippines 2016?"
Listen to the contestants' answers, including contestant #13, Catriona.
Hillarie then took her final walk as Miss World Philippines 2015.
The night ended with the announcement of winners. Aside from Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray, Arienne Louise Braga Calingo was named First Princess, Ivanna Kamil Suficiencia Pacis was 2nd Princess, Marah Munoz was 3rd Princess, and Sandra Raymundo Lemonon was 4th princess.
It was certainly a night to remember as all 5 winners smiled and posed for photos after they were crowned.
