‘Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad’ tops MMFF 2017 box office

MANILA, Philippines – It’s official. Vice Ganda’s Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad topped the 2017 Metro Manila box office.

MMFF Executive Committee (Execom) member Noel Ferrer made the announcement on his Instagram account Wednesday night, January 17.

Ang Panday starring Coco Martin came in second while Siargao, which stars Jericho Rosales, placed third. Horror film Haunted Forest rounded up the Top 4.

No specific figures were released, but Ferrer said that the MMFF 2017 has exceeded the P1-billion mark and that the other 4 films also earned more than P30 million each. (READ: MMFF 2017 sets new record for first two days)

According to a report from PEP, Bing Advincula, vice chairman of the MMFF selection committee, said that 60% of the earnings came from The Revenger’s Squad and Ang Panday.

She also said that The Revenger’s Squad has earned more that P500 million.  – Rappler.com
