Emmys fashion 2017: Red carpet hits
See the best looks in this year's Primetime Emmy's red carpet

The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards was held on Sunday, September 17 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. Just like those who were nominated, there were definite fashion wins and losses. From the A-listers to the young ingenues, these women’s fashion choices prove that sometimes everything goes your way.

These 8 women had very different styles but all of them deserve an award for looking amazing.

Halston Sage in Zac Posen

Halston stars in Fox’s new sci-fi series, The Orville, and she was out of this world gorgeous. She wore a updated white goddess gown, with rows of silver beads at the waist, skirt, and shoulders from Zac Posen’s Resort 2018 collection. Her styling was perfection with a very clean face and classic chignon, small diamond earrings and a white rectangular clutch. When you’re young and beautiful, you don’t need much to look stunning.

Thandie Newton in Jason Wu

Thandie wore a very elegant Jason Wu gown. The bustier was made with matte fabric and kept free from any embellishments, while the full skirt was full-on drama with a train and crystals. The dusty rose gown complemented Thandie’s amazing skin and highlighted her to-die-for shoulder and collar bones. This classy and sophisticated look was finished off with antique diamond pendant earrings and diamond rings by Fred Leighton.

Evan Rachel Wood in custom Jeremy Scott

Happy Emmy day! @moschino hair: @hairbyjohnd makeup: @tobyfleischman stylist @samanthamcmillen_stylist

In theory, this cropped white tuxedo with a sweetheart vest with big covered buttons, classic cumber band wide pant leg, sounds too costumey, but Jeremy Scott managed to turn this menswear-inspired look to red carpet gold. Again, the clean face and pulled back chignon and simple earrings helped make the whole look work.

Millie Bobby Brown in Calvin Klein

There was certainly nothing strange about Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown. This 13-year-old was truly the princess of the evening in red kitten heels and sleek styling. Although this Calvin Klein gown looked like a very Sarah Jessica Parker moment, Millie was able to make it totally her own. Besides, she’s not old enough to remember that Sex and the City look.

Nicole Kidman in Calvin Klein

The best actress winner for Big Little Lies was also a fashion win in a red gown that featured a full tea-length skirt. The halter neckline attached to a sparkling crystal rope on her neck. This is a departure from the usual column gowns that Nicole loves to wear. One of Nicole’s best accessories were her Calvin Klein stilettos, which had crystal embellishments on the top ankle strap and the other had them on the bottom strap. I hope that pageant contestants take notice of these very simple stilettos and throw out their platforms.

Jane Krakowski in Badgeley Mischka

Jane Krakowski stuns in #badgleymischka at the 2017 Emmys #emmys2017 #janekrakowski

A post shared by Badgley Mischka (@badgleymischka) on

TV comedian, Jane Krakowski, wowed in this black, long-sleeved mermaid gown that had a very, very deep and somewhat wide V neckline. This look could have easily gone towards Morticia Addams territory but Jane’s style team averted this by giving her a very sleek, side-swept bob.

Julianne Hough in Marchesa

One of my all time favorite looks #emmys2017  #marchesa

A post shared by Julianne Hough (@juleshough) on

The Dancing with the Stars judge, Julianne Hough, wore a black tulle gown with an asymetrical skirt and soft, fabric pink floral appliqués on the bodice. She, too, wore the go-to makeup look of the night, with a clean face and ponytail. The ruching and draping on the bodice created a very fresh take on an otherwise overdone look. Julianne was strikingly beautiful.

Sofia Vergara in Mark Zunino

Gracias @lorraineschwartz @mark_zunino for my #emmys2017 look!! Im ready to partyyyy

A post shared by Sofia Vergara (@sofiavergara) on

When you have a gorgeous adult son as your date yet you still look so curvaceously stunning, you deserve to be on the best dressed list all the time. Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara, who has a body that even women who haven’t had kids wished they had, wore her trademark bustier, mermaid gown. This time she opted for a very bridal look, which had fine ruching and intricately woven patterns on the bodice that flowed out onto the skirt. Her pulled-back hair with the wispy bangs may not be for everyone but she looked youthful.  – Rappler.com
