LOOK: Raxenne Maniquiz designs limited edition MAC lipstick collection

Filipino illustrator and designer Raxenne Maniquiz was tapped to design a limited edition collection of MAC Cosmetics lipsticks that depict 21 cities in Asia. 

“This project was crazy challenging! I had to think of so many patterns for a lot of cities. There’s also the responsibility of representing each city right. I’ve only ever been to a few of them so I was really anxious, hahaha. I have the marketing teams to thank,” said Raxenne in an Instagram post ahead of the line’s release on Tuesday, July 13. 

The line features existing MAC lipstick shades in special packaging that includes illustrations by Raxenne. Her illustrations can be found both on the lipstick bullet and box.  

“I still can’t believe it! Ruby Woo was my first ever lipstick and this feels like a full circle moment. Kinda surreal that my illustrations are on M•A•C lipsticks available in 10 countries,” Raxenne added. 

Three Philippine cities – Manila, Cebu, and Davao – are part of the collection. Manila features Mehr, a mauve pink matte lipstick; Cebu features Mull It Over, a warm-toned medium-dark coral with a semi-matte finish; while Davao features Taupe, a warm-toned, medium-dark brown matte lipstick.

The three shades are available on MAC’s official Lazada store. The Manila and Davao lipsticks cost P1,150 each, while the Cebu lipstick costs P1,250. All three are also available as a kit that goes for P3,195. 

Ruby Woo (a matte blue-red), the shade Raxenne had mentioned, is also part of the collection. 

Raxenne is a Philippines-based graphic designer and illustrator whose work usually depicts Philippine flora and fauna. She has collaborated for big brands in the past, including Nike, Charles & Keith, Cole Haan, and Dr. Martens, according to her official website.
