MANILA, Philippines – If anyone's due for their own makeup collection, it's Fil-Am YouTube sensation and beauty guru Patrick Starrr. The makeup gods seemed to have caught on to this because MAC's Patrick Starrr collection has dropped – and it's every bit as fabulous as Patrick himself. Patrick has indeed come full circle with this collection – before he became a famous beauty vlogger, he worked as an artist at a MAC makeup counter.
The collection itself espouses Patrick's "one size fits all" philosophy when it comes to beauty, with classic shades that will look good on pretty much everyone – because as Patrick said, "everyone loves makeup, glamour, and sparkle." "I did not want to go too artistry or too avant-garde, because I wanted someone’s grandma to walk in and feel great buying it," he said.
The collection – which comes in white and silver packaging with Patrick Starrr's sparkly, holographic signature – includes 12 items that can be worn on the daily.
There are two eyeshadow quads. Patrick Starrr Glam AF contains two matte shadows in varying shades of brown, one satin shadow in creamy beige, and 1 frost shadow in soft peach pink, and is ideal for shimmery looks that go from day to night.
Patrick Starrr Goalgetter contains 3 matte shadows that go from a deep, dark red to peachy brown, and one frost shadow in a shimmery peachy brown. Perfect for statement eyes.
There collection contains 3 shades of lipstick, lipgloss, and lip pencil. Lipstick shades include Patrick Woo, a bright matte red that is a variation on the classic MAC shade, Ruby Woo; She Betta Werrrk, a soft matte pink; and Mamastarrr, a satin reddish brown
Lipglosses have the same names and similar shades: an intense bluish red for Patrick Woo, a light warm pink for She Betta Werrrk, and a pink cinnamon for Mamastarrr.
Lip pencils come in 3 versatile colors: Brick, an bright golden red; Mahogany, an intense reddish brown; and Edge to Edge, a mid-tone dirty pink.
Out of all the products, Patrick's favorite is Patrick's Powder, a colorless, ultrafine setting powder that comes in a matte finish. "The colour, texture, and versatility is great for all skin tones and the packaging is amazing," he said.
The simple shades and (mostly) matte finishes of Patrick's MAC collection proves that basics can be every bit as glamorous.
The MAC x Patrick Starrr collection will be available in selected MAC locations starting February 2018. – Rappler.com
