MANILA, Philippines - The official hashtag of the Rappler Senatorial Debate, #RapplerDebate, made it to the top Twitter trending topics worldwide and in the Philippines as 6 senatorial candidates battled it out in a public debate on Saturday evening, April 13, at the Liwasang Aurora, Quezon Memorial Circle.
The debate, which was live-streamed on the Rappler homepage, live blogged, and simulcast on 120 Radyo Natin stations all over the country, also allowed online participants to let candidates know if they felt happy, inspired, angry, or annoyed about the candidates' answers through the Rappler Senatorial Debate mood meter.
After a voter clicks on an emotion, he is immediately prompted with a pre-composed Twitter message that is shared with all his followers.

It was also the 2nd trending topic in the Philippines around 8:30 pm Saturday, staying on top 3 and 4 until around 2 am Sunday, April 14.
