What happens online when Leo doesn’t win an Oscar

MANILA, Philippines – And the Oscar goes to… NOT Leo… yet again.

The 2014 Academy Awards are over and, surprise surprise, everybody’s favorite Leo has been awarded with a total of zero golden statues. He was in line to win the Best Actor award for his performance in Wolf of Wall Street but Matthew McConaughey nabbed the award instead for his stellar acting in Dallas Buyers Club.

When Matthew’s name was called instead of Leo’s, the fans instantly shared their devastation online, thus creating two worldwide trends: “Poor Leo” and #TeamLeo.

For years fans have been hoping that Leonardo DiCaprio would finally get the Oscars appreciation they say he deserves and for years, they have been disappointed – perhaps even more so than the elite actor himself. This year was no different.

“You win some, you lose some,” may seem like a cruel joke for Leo fans right now, but perhaps one day they’ll all look back and wonder why they were ever worried.
