MANILA, Philippines – For the younger, teenaged subset of the Facebook community, there’ll be one less thing to fear when using Facebook Graph Search: perverts.

While Facebook did say Graph Search would have protections in place for minors, a new announcement adds more context to what safeguards will be made available.

The announcement mentions that, “for certain searches that could help to identify a young person by age or by their location, results will only show to that person’s Friends, or Friends of Friends who are also between the age of 13-17.”

The announcement also offers tips for maintaining security and privacy when using Graph Search.

Facebook’s Graph Search is an enhanced search tool that allows users to find people, interests, and places based on the phrases that are used to search with. It is currently on a limited preview for desktop use, but will be available on mobile later on this year. – Rappler.com
