MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – If some reports are accurate, Twitter may be announcing its very own music app during this weekend’s Coachella Music Festival.

CNET mentioned Twitter’s acquisition of We are Hunted, a music discovery service. It has since learned that the acquisition may have been the start of Twitter’s own attempt to make a standalone music application.

The report mentions how the app, which may end up being known as Twitter Music, could be released on iOS by the end of April. Unlike Vine, which is Twitter’s short-video sharing application, Twitter Music will have branding that links it strongly to Twitter, as Twitter users who sign up for the service will reportedly get personalized music recommendations.

The service will reportedly have 4 tabs: a Suggestions tab that offers you music based on what one’s account follows on the service, a #nowplaying tab lists music linked by people you follow on the service or your Twitter account, a Popular tab showing We are Hunted’s recommendations, and an Emerging tab that lists up-and-coming artists.

Lending more credence towards the possibility of a Twitter music service is the arrival of a new site, music.twitter.com. The site comes with the Twitter logo and a #music hashtag, and it lets people sign into and allow authorization for something called Trending Music Web, as seen above. As reported by The Verge, Stephen Phillips, founder of We Are Hunted, appears to have been using the service himself.
