MANILA, Philippines – With 10 days to go before the demise of Google’s website feed-reading service Google Reader, Feedly has prepared itself with a scalable infrastructure that will replace Google Reader.

Known as Feedly Cloud, it expands upon the original feed reader of Feedly (see Rappler’s review here) by providing an infrastructure that other feed reader services can use to keep going.

With over 200 developers reportedly asking for access to the application programming interface (API) needed to make apps using Feedly Cloud and 9 apps already released, the Feedly team has certainly garnered a lot of attention.

The Feedly team also announced a standalone web interface for Feedly, allowing users of any browser to read their feeds with the browser of their choice.

Existing Feedly users can prepare for the July 1 deadline of Google Reader by logging onto the Feedly Cloud page and restarting feedly and the browser on all devices you want to use Feedly with. This enables Feedly to migrate existing accounts to the Feedly Cloud.

New users and those who need a more complete walkthrough for using migrating to Feedly can check the Feedly preparation guide for more details. – Rappler.com
