MANILA, Philippines – Digg is making a bid to come back into the forefront of the Internet’s virtual heart and mind. Digg is putting the beta version of its website feed reader through some tests, making sure its current version works quickly and stays stable.
Digg Reader is attempting to become a prime replacement to Google Reader, which will shut down on July 1.
People who’ve received their invitation to the beta simply need to connect their Google Accounts to the Digg reader, and it will migrate a user’s feeds and folders. New users can also begin to use the site to build their own list of feeds.
According to their announcement, users can also use keyboard shortcuts like in Google Reader, choose how they view the articles on their feed, and save and share items to a number of different applications and social networks, including Digg.
Digg has also come out with an iPhone and iPad app for Digg Reader, and is working on adding more features to the service, as well as releasing an Android app. – Rappler.com
