MANILA, Philippines – Google is expanding its Google Play store offerings around the world, giving 9 Asian countries, including the Philippines, the opportunity to buy books from Google.

Android Poilce reports Google Play added the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and New Zealand to the countries that can purchase books from their store.

TechInAsia adds that, at least in Taiwan, international and local publishers have their wares on Google Play with books in more languages available as a result.

Hopefully, local offerings may also get some circulation on the Philippine version the Google Play book store, though that all depends on whether Google and local publishers can come to an agreement. – Rappler.com
