'Harry Potter' theme park to open July 2014 in Japan
MANILA, Philippines – Harry Potter fans, there’s more reason to rejoice. We’ve previously heard that Universal Studios Japan will be opening a Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, the first outside the United States – but now we know when to expect its gates to open: July 15, 2014.
This announcement was made in Osaka on April 18, with Japan Prime Mininister Shinzo Abe, US Ambassador to Japan, Caroline Kennedy, and even actress Evanna Lynch (who played Luna Lovegood) in attendance, among others.
According to Deadline, the Japan version of the theme park will be similar to the one in Universal Studios, Florida, featuring many attractions like the Hogwarts castle and Hogsmeade. Harry Potter and his friends famously found ways in and out of the castle where they got their magical education. Hogsmeade, the village not too far away from Hogwarts, was where Harry enjoyed fun afternoons with friends Ron and Hermione starting his third year at school.

The Los Angeles Times also reported that Universal Studios Hollywood is set to open the Wizarding World attraction in 2016.
And remember, there’s more to look forward to when it comes to Harry’s magical world – JK Rowling is working with Warner Bros on the movie version of the Potter spinoff called Fantastic Beasts and Where to find Them, a book by Rowling released in 2001.
Fantastic Beasts will feature “magizoologist” Newt Scamander, the author of Harry’s Hogwarts textbook, as the protagonist. The story will be site about 70 years before Harry’s time. – Rappler.com
