Siargao is a go-to destination for international and locals surfers all throughout the year, earning its title as the surfing capital of the Philippines. Although Cloud 9 is the most popular and accessible spot, Siargao Island also has many other alternative surf spots when it gets crowded.

For non-surfers, there’s still plenty to do in Siargao. You can go around to see the island via motorbike, chat with the friendly locals, or just relax at the pristine beaches. Even the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis made a stop in Siargao to check out the waves, heading there after the band’s performance at 2014’s 7107 Music Festival.
