Canadian travel vlogger Christian LeBlanc‘s story: Exploring the Manjuyod Sandbar, what he calls the “Maldives of the Philippines,” in Negros Oriental

Where was this photo taken?

The photo was taken at Manjuyod Sandbar in Negros Oriental, or what Christian called the “Maldives of the Philippines” because of its white sand and the cottages that look like they’re floating on the shallow blue water. ([Picture This] Canyoneering in Alegria, Cebu)

“We decided to go there because it looked absolutely stunning and we thought that it would be even more beautiful from above,” said Christian through an email, referring to the aerial shots they could get with a drone.

Christian was traveling with Ronny Brouwers from Drone Heroes, a group that travels the world to create drone videos, according to their Facebook page.

In his vlog about Manjuyod, Christian described the sandbar when his group arrived: “This is probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The water’s probably like a foot deep so you can actually see the sand, nice beautiful white sand. You can rent these [cottages] out for the night, there’s only a few of them, but look at this! It is so stunning.”

How to get there, how much?

“I went there with Atmosphere Resort because it is one of the tours they offer,” said Christian over email, but because the resort covered the cost of their trip to Manjuyod, he isn’t sure about the exact figures.

“It is about a 2 hour drive from Dumaguete and a 30 minute boat ride from the pier,” he said in the video’s description.
