PDiggy or PGong? Netizens suggest the #NextPresidentialNickname
MANILA, Philippines – What will the nickname of president-elect Rodrigo Duterte be?
Filipinos are fond of giving presidents nicknames. In the past, we had PNoy for outgoing President Benigno Aquino III, Erap for Joseph Estrada, PGMA for Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, FVR for Fidel V Ramos, and PCA for Cory Aquino.
Duterte is expected to be proclaimed next week after winning a landslide victory in the 2016 presidential election. He won at least 38.6% (15,933,489) of the votes. Trailing behind him are Liberal Party bet Manuel Roxas II with 9,692,478 votes, Grace Poe with 8,932,632 votes, United Nationalist Alliance's Jejomar Binay with 5,315,406 votes, and Miriam Defensor Santiago with 1,420,703 votes
All the presidential candidates – with the exception of incumbent Vice President Binay and Senator Santiago – conceded to Duterte's win.
