Time to prepare that disaster kit
MANILA, Philippines - During disasters, it's always best to be prepared.
Disasters are almost predictable in a country that lies in the typhoon path. Disasters — which include earthquakes and typhoons — have caused incredible damage to the economy and to livelihood.
In April 2013, the National Statistical and Coordination Board (NSCB) said natural disasters have kept many Filipinos below the poverty line.
Being prepared even before a disaster strikes can save lives. During this rainy season, it's best to keep a checklist of what to keep in a handy disaster kit.
