SAN FRANCISCO, USA – The Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco transformed into a “Manila on Christmas day” when a host of Filipino community groups gathered around carrying big and bright parol lanterns for an event called the Parol Stroll on Saturday, December 14.

Celebrating its 11th year, the Parol Stroll gathers Bay area Filipino groups to compete for the best designed parol lantern.

Each contingent made its own parol to represent its group as well as the event’s annual theme. This year, the theme was “Liwanag para sa tanan; Enlightenment for all,” promoting immigration reform and gay rights.
