Forests take centuries to grow, but only hours to destroy.

In Cordillera, over 300 hectares of forest reserve are lost yearly to fire, illegal logging and land conversion. This deforestation has, in turn, resulted in erosion and ground water depletion.

It’s about time we do something about it. The Cordillera Conservation Trust (CCT) invites you to help build forests! Join the #CordilleraChallenge!

#SaveTheTrees in two ways:

1. By volunteering in forest building activities held monthly (the next one is scheduled in June)

CCT organizes activities that require a lot of volunteers. Its forest building activities occur every 3rd Saturday of the month from June to December each year. For more information, please email us at: cordillera.conservation.trust@gmail.com

2. By donating to the conservation trust (a seedling only costs P20, less than the price of most ice cream bars!) 

For 2012, CCT targets to establish 20 seedling nurseries through its Roots and Shoots, a nursery in public elementary schools.
