Keynote Speaker: Paul Papadimitriou

Paul is a futurist and marketing innovation expert. He is the founder of Intelligencr, a consultancy and scouting bureau for innovation and emerging technologies. Paul advises startups and corporations worldwide on their marketing strategies by translating the world of new technologies into business journeys shaped around a new, augmented, nomadic, and tribal consumer. He has worked with organizations such as Microsoft, Conde Nast, eBay, Tumblr, and the European Union.

Laurence Cua

Laurence is currently Uber’s General Manager for the Philippines. Previously, he was responsible for the prepaid business for US-based telecommunications provider T-Mobile. Prior to that, he was in charge of trade marketing for the hair, oral care, and deodorants categories for Unilever Philippines. He holds an MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management and a Management Engineering degree from Ateneo de Manila.

Carlson Choi

With over 20 years of business, creative, and technology experience, Carlson Choi has successfully mastered the art of blending technology with creativity for measurable and profitable business returns. As Jollibee’s Chief Digital Officer, Carlson is responsible for leading the shift to a consumer centric marketing model, the digitization of retail experience across 3,500+ global locations, and the global digital innovation pipeline across JFC’s $3 billion global brand portfolio. Prior to JFC, Carlson served as the Vice President of Digital Initiatives Group& GM of Apps & Games at Mattel Inc. Carlson also served as the Vice President of Marketing and Digital Sales at NAMCO BANDAI Games. Prior to this, he served as the Head of Digital at Activision Blizzard where he led the company’s global digital strategy and operation.

Bianca is a writer, education advocate and TV host. She was previously Editor-in-Chief at Meg magazine, and is a published author of the best-selling book for young girls, #PaanoBaTo. Bianca’s latest adventure is that of being a wife and a mom.



Simon Kemp

Simon is an author and marketing strategist specializing in building powerful brands for the connected age. He founded Kepios, a marketing strategy consultancy, and is also Global Consultant for We Are Social, and Head of Asia Pacific for Contagious’s consulting division, Insider. He was recently recognized as one of Asia’s Most Influential Digital Marketers by CMO Asia magazine, and featured in Campaign Asia’s 40 Under 40 honors list in 2014.

Frank Koo

Frank heads the Talent Solutions business for Southeast Asia at LinkedIn. He joined the company in April 2016 to lead the team in helping organizations acquire and develop talent through LinkedIn’s platform, analytics and solutions. Prior to this, Frank was the Chief Operating Officer at BE Education, an organization that runs international schools. He has over 25 years of experience in technology and education, and has also assumed key leadership roles with Oracle and IBM.

Donald Lim

Donald is the Country CEO of the Dentsu Aegis Network in the Philippines. Before this, he served as the Chief Digital Officer of ABS-CBN Corporation, and is former Chief Innovation Officer of McCann Worldgroup Philippines and Managing Director of the digital arm of McCann, MRM Manila. Donald had also been president and CEO of Yehey! Corporation and president and CEO of Media Contacts Manila. Aside from his full time job, he oversees five other businesses of his own, and also does management consulting for up and coming brands and businesses.

Ed Mapa

Ed is the founder of Castle By The River, a transformation consultancy created in this age of digital revolution and evolution. He has over 25 years of experience in the fields of advertising, public relations, strategic planning, and digital marketing. Prior to moving in the consultancy arena, Ed’s corporate career spanned across key markets in Asia: Singapore, China, India and Manila. He worked with global advertising and marketing networks such as Omnicom Group and Havas, leading these agencies to numerous award-winning, breakthrough advertising and digital campaigns. He also co-founded the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP), the gate keeper of the Digital Marketing Industry in the country today. 

Paolo Mercado

Paolo is Nestlé Philippines’ Senior Vice President for Marketing, Communication, and Innovation. He was formerly Head of Marketing & Consumer Communication for Nestlé Greater China Region. During his tenure in China, one of the most challenging and dynamic consumer markets in the world, Paolo helped establish Nestlé as one of China’s leading companies in digital and social media marketing.

JP Palpallatoc

JP leads Accenture Digital in the Philippines, which has delivery and capability-building responsibilities over Mobility, Analytics, and Interactive. Across Accenture worldwide, JP is also the Global Delivery Lead and Accenture Digital Global Delivery Network APAC Area Lead. Before helping Digital, JP successfully steered various media and communication engagements as Media and Entertainment Portfolio lead for 7 years. JP has likewise ably supported Accenture’s Chief Information Office organization for 7 yeras. He led Accenture CIO’s Manila Delivery organization as Center Director, supporting the various internal applications and systems of Accenture. 

Maria Ressa

Maria is the CEO and Executive Editor of Rappler. Despite documenting some of the worst disasters and uprisings in Southeast Asia, Maria believes in social good and in the transformative powers of media and technology. She was head of ABS-CBN News and Current affairs for 6 years. Prior to that, she was CNN’s bureau chief in Manila, then Jakarta. She is one of the founders of Probe, an independent production company. She has also written two books on terrorist networks in Southeast Asia.

Shahab Shabibi

Shahab is the Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Machine Ventures that prides itself in “Transforming Ideas into Companies.” While with Machine Ventures, he founded HeyKuya, an SMS-Based Personal Assistant Service which was sold just 6 months after its launch. Prior to that, he was among the founding team of 3 companies. He was recently selected as one of Asia’s most influential entrepreneurs Under 30 by Forbes magazine.

Stephanie Sy

Stef is the founder of Thinking Machines, a data science consultancy in the Philippines. Using data, she solves client problems through building ML models, building data capture+analysis pipelines, creating data dense web interactives or defining data strategy. Their client list includes major telco and utilities, global nonprofits, government agencies, and tech startups.

Mia Umanos

Mia Umanos is an analytics consultant from the United States and is acting Director of Analytics for Amihan and Bughaw Digital. In this role, she innovates the analytics program for clients like LBC, PLDT, and Golden ABC.  She’s worked in the analytics field for more than 12 years, elevating the collective intelligence of marketers, strategists, designers, and customer experience architects through data. She recently headed the Global Customer Analytics team for Intel and designed the customer data strategy for the Apple Watch product launch. Previously, Umanos was with Omincom and JWT companies where she led marketing analytics programs for clients including, Moen, Nissan, Budweiser and Quicksilver. 

Jonathan Yabut

Jonathan is the winner of the hit Asian reality TV show, The Apprentice Asia. Dubbed as “Asia’s Millennial Guru,” Jonathan today is Asia’s leading motivational speaker on topics involving leadership and career management. An author of two certified best-selling books, he currently serves as managing director of his marketing and talent consultancy firm, JY Consultancy & Ventures. 

Arvin Yason

Arvin is Managing Director in Accenture’s Global Delivery Network for Technology in the Philippines. His career spans two decades, starting with an extended stint in the Communications, Media, and Technology practices in North America and Asia Pacific. In the last two years, he has been helping run the internal Technology teams as part of the Chief Information Officer’s global organization, driving innovation through experimentation, Agile and Lean Design principles, Designing Thinking, and leading the pivot to the new team for the Philippines-based CIO teams.
