#ThinkPH 2018: Dear Future Self, are my skills today fit for tomorrow?

MANILA, Philippines – The future seems more scary and uncertain now, given the vast and fast changes we see every day. This is especially true among students who are in courses that may not even be relevant when they finish.

There’s basis for that fear.

According to the Institute for the Future (IFTF), 85% of the jobs that will exist in 2030 have not even been invented yet.

Questions that students ask about their future lives and their future selves are warranted. They have to learn new skills, adapt to a new world, and avoid becoming obsolete. They have every right to doubt if they could make use of what they’re learning in schools now for whatever path they want to take in the future.

#ThinkPH, a week-long event that can be accessed online, will help students ask the hard questions – and more.
