Philippine laws and decrees on Climate Change
In recent years, various laws have been signed to strengthen climate change adaptation in the country.
In October 2009, the Climate Change Act (RA 9729) was signed to create the Climate Change Commission, an agency "tasked to coordinate, monitor and evaluate the programs and action plans of the government relating to climate change."
The Climate Change Commission was placed under the Office of the President, which released the law's implementing rules and regulations in January 2010.
In August 2012, RA 10174 was signed, amending the Climate Change Act. This law establishes, among others, a survival fund to provide long-term finance streams for effectively addressing climate change.
