NGCP restores power lines in Ruby-hit areas

MANILA, Philippines – Several electric cooperatives in Ruby-hit areas have been back online since Monday, December 8, as the country’s grid operator began reenergizing transmission lines located along Tropical Storm Ruby’s path.

As of Tuesday, November 9, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced the following restored transmission lines with their corresponding linked cooperatives:

Luzon

• Batangas-FORCEM 69 kV- Line: La Farge, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum, San Miguel Foods
• Batangas-Mabini-Cuenca 69kV Line: MERALCO, BATELEC 2, AG&P, BHPI, Coastal Bay Chemical, and EEI
• Batangas-Ibaan-Rosario 69-kV Line: BATELEC 2, Puyat Steel, and Ibaan Electric
• Gumaca-Atimonan 69-kV Line: QUEZELCO I
• Pitogo-Mulanay 69-kV Line: QUEZELCO I
• Gumaca-Lopez-Tagkawayan 69-kV Line: QUEZELCO I

At least 19 transmission lines and facilities in Visayas were down due to Ruby, according to NGCP’s Monday bulletin.

It said it has fixed 27 out of the 46 facilities affected by the typhoon in Southern Luzon and Visayas since Saturday, December 6. – Rappler.com
